Fuel pump and idle

Fuel pump and idle..any insight SOSH or MBTECH??
1998 ML 320, 32k miles
I just had my fuel pump changed less than a week ago, now when I start up the engine, the idle revs to the 20 mark then after about 20 seconds, the rpm drops just under the 10 mark (maybe 800-900 rpm).
Also the engine cut off a couple of times at start up.
Could this be a faulty pump again, or they did not use a brand new pump for replacemant??
Also, what rpm should the engine idle?
