When I lock my 99 ML320, either with the key or with the transmitter, the side doors lock but the rear door does not. I hear a clicking sound there but nothing happens. Does anyone have any ideas to fix this so I dont have to drive an hour to the dealer? ( plus, its out of warranty so I'd have to pay.)

 

There's a pin inside the tailgate outer handle that always breaks. You will need a new outer handle assembly.

 

Same thing happened to me. I had to take it to the dealer.
