My friend is having a problem with his ML 320. It starts, runs for a few minutes, then dies. Familiar to anyone? Where should I look for the problem?

You say it runs for a few minutes. If it runs for 1-2 seconds then it is the Key's DAS (Driver Authorizing System) and you have a bad key. If it runs for a few minutes then you could have one of several problems. One is a bad fuel pump another is a bad CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor) or any of several other issues. If it's not the Key then you should get the ODBII codes read.
