Question 2g430..."roof rack pop"

Greetings:
What is the "roof rack pop" you are referring to?
Did you ever find a fix for it?

Thank you

Unhappy never fixed it...

the dealer had it again for another two days and nothing. they thought it was my rear bumper, then they replaced my rear shocks and still no luck. at the moment, im just trying to ignore it. the sound is something like a "poping" noise that only happens when i make a turn into a steep driveway or something. at least thats the only way i can reproduce it. im thinking of taking it to another dealer when i get my oil changed, which is due in a few hundred miles. is your's doing this too?

Mine is not doing what you described. Then again, I have put only 1k miles on mine and that is only weekend driving. I will keep an ear open when I start driving more frequently.
The problem I was having was when I go over large bumps, it seems like it is dropping very hard in the back. The service says the shocks are fine. It only happens on very large bumps though.

Have you had any other trouble with your ML?

Thanks

I had a similar problem, a slight pop when making a sharp right. It had to do with the suspension flexing. I was able to fix it by spraying the front torsion bars with a silicon. I was referred to a website by a very knowledgable ML guru. To really do it right they suggest having bushings installed. I have not done this but, the pop is gone with just the spray. Here is the web address.

Give a shot. I hope this will help.
