I have a 2001 ml320 and it squeaks! I have been told by a local independent that it needs upper and lower ball joints plus tie rods on both sides he also suggested that while we have the car apart that we also change out the shocks in the front. Is this a DIY project that I can do? I don't have the $1,600 that he wants for the job. Am I at any risk if I don't do right away?
