Secondary Air Injection problem/question

I have an 01 ML320 with 180K miles. The check engine light is illuminated. The OBD Code is for Secondary Air System. MOD$10 also reports back in the code reader.

The pump runs for about 90 seconds when I started the car in my 50 degree garage. I cleaned the diverter valves over Christmas, hoping that might clear things up. I reset the light. After two complete driving cycles the light is back on.

I don't see how my cleaning of the diverter valves helped as there is no sensor immediately down stream.

Does anyone know what MOD$10 is? Is it an O2 sensor in the catalytic converter reporting back to rich of a mixture?

Additionally my remote control locks don't work. However the automatic locking feature works intermittently when it is cold in the morning. Ebox fan not working causing AAM problems>

Any thoughts? keslerjohn@aol.com Indianapolis
