oil changes

I wouldn't bother changing the oil sooner than your ML tells you it needs it. It is constantly monitoring your driving habits, acidity in the oil and everything else so that it will know when the oil needs changed. My MB dealer told me about testing that had been done on how long the oil would go before breakdown(based on the engines with 8 quarts of oil). They went all the way to 18k miles before seeing severe breakdown in the oil. Changing the oil sooner was one of my first questions asked, but they were so against me doing so that I figured I would be safe, afterall when is the last time you had a dealer talk you out of a $130.00 oil change? Just my 2 cents...

DUDE, stop yelling take your caps off!

OK like Mart said, MB & Mobil (producers of the oil they use *I think*) has technology that will enable changing oil every 3K a thing of the past.....good to us of course....My MB tech said u drive an ML 10-15K before needing an oil change. Great computers on baord that study your driving habits & conditions, the ML will tell you when you need a service.

As for the tree sap, on the GLASS ONLY spary on windex/409 something like that & run a razor blade over it.

As for the affected body area, get some road grime remover, found at local auto part store, I got a bottle of turtle wax road grime remover for like $4, I had the same problem, took me about 10 min. to fix........

They pretty much use synthetic oil which lasts much longer than conventional. Seems strange to last that long, but I figure they know a thing or two about it. Worst part about waiting so long, fewer trips to the dealer. Now we've gotta make up excuses to visit :-)
