mb three-point star on trunk

'98 ML 320
mb three-point star on trunk
i took off the mb emblem on the trunk but in the procces cracked the three-pointed star... only problem is that behind the start there are three "mounting holes" for the emblem, about 5mm in diameter each, that were drilled into the tailgate. any suggestions on how to cover them up or fix this without replacing the emblem? any help would be appreciated.

you should ask the question
before you went ahead and removed the star. Sorry the only suggestion is to patch it with something like the three pointed STAR
