Torn between ML500 + G500

Hey all,

I posted a few weeks ago about wanting to get a new ML500. Anyway, I went to my local MB dealer today, and took a look at the truck. The ML500 is very nice inside and outside, although I do like the exterior design of my X5 better than the ML500.

I thought I was decided on a ML500; however, when I went in today, I took a drive in the G500. I feel in love with the car, even though the design is almost 30 years old. The interior is extremely nice, and the exterior, while boxy, is very appealing to me.

Anyway, I am torn between both cars. I do not know which one I want. Price is a small factor in my decision, as the ML500 is almost $25,000 less than the G500. But, price aside, I don't know which one to get! Has anyone here ever owned both cars? Any input on my decision would be helpful.

If you don't need extra seat in the back and MONEY is not an factor. I would strongly suggest to go with G500. Just because it is the ultimate SUV from Mercedes and its German made

Go with the G

Although I cannot speak very much for the mechanics of the ML500 and the G500 (we have an ML55 and a G55), I can tell you that I would definitely pick a G Wagen over an ML any day of the week. The G will be slower and won't handle as well but you are in an SUV anyway and if you wanted that kind of performance you would be looking at the AMG's. I live in Colorado and have the opportunity to drive both vehicles frequently, and I can tell you that the G is just more fun and more entertaining. The attention you get while driving the G is absolutley rediculous. I have had men in their 60's get out of their vehicles at a stop light and run up to me to find out about the car. There is never a dull moment. It truely is an amazing truck. My vote is for the G. If you would like any other specifics please let me know and I will be happy to discuss the two vehicles.

2002 CLK 55 AMG Coupe ;)
The G is made in Austria. It's almost as heavy as a Hummer2 and anly gets 12mpg!

It also comes in a stretch version as well as a limo, bulletproof if price is no object.

The limo gets 8 mpg.

Well...

After going to the dealer the other day, I've decided on the G500. I finalized everything this morning, and I'm picking up my new black on black G500 tomorrow morning! Thanks for everyone's input
