W163 Depo Projector Headlights

W163 Depo Projector Headlights
...yes I tried to search but couldn't find anything relevant to my need...
My wife and I just recently picked up an ML320 where the previous owner slapped on some cheap ebay projector/black housing headlights (non-Depo brand). The beam pattern is scattered, unfocus, and hollow.
I'm trying to be cost effective and efficient and looking to throw on a 55w 8k HID kit, so my 2 options are:
1. Purchase the Depo Projector Headlight and replace existing headlights - $209 on ebay
2. Keep my current headlight and do a TSX (or equivalent quality projector) retrofit - $200 on HIDPlanet.com
Obviously #1 seems the most ideal. Does anyone in here have HID's in the Depo projectors and can provide their opinion, and preferably pics, about light output? I've had Depo projectors on my BMW and were very pleased with them.
