EGR Question

1998 ML320 - 160,000 miles

I got the P0400 "EGR flow malfunction" error...so i cleaned the EGR tube.
It was plugged as expected...I then noticed the vacuum line right next to
it (below and right) was disinterated...what is this line? looks like it connects to a switch...

A little history...wife calls yesterday and says the car is sputtering, no power when given gas...prior to this no problems at all...check engine light
was on for about a week (found out about the P0400)...

i need to replace the vacuum line tonight...car will idle roughly...will sometimes die...also it wont rev past about 4300 rpm...

is this due to the vacuum or should i look at other things?

thanks...

anthony

There is a vacuum line that goes from the intake to the EGR valve

how did you get the tube off? I can get it off the valve but not out of the block.
