This week I was driving with my wife in our ML320 2000, in the city about 35 to 40 mph, without any warnings the ML brake on it's own, without any intervention from my part, at the time of the braking a yellow triangle with a exclamation mark in the center blinked, I hold the steering wheel and maintained control, skipped for a long time, I turn the car off and back on and resumed driving with no problem, we headed home and did it 4 more times, packed the ML and we have not driven it since then. I have checked with our local MB dealer and they told me that there is no recall, and the adviser mentioned that was some kind of internal memo that back when this cars had warranty the ABS pump, calipers and lines needed to be change, but now being a 2000 is out of warranty and the repairs will cost me +/- 3000 dollars, I think this is a safety issue and MB must be liable, and makes no sense to me that a failing part when fail brakes on it own at any speed. what do you think, the repairs are near the actual cost of the ML 320 2000 with 125,000 miles. any one out there hear or experience similar ??? your comments and advise will be highly appreciated.
