What I think you mean is the rocker arms/camshaft bearing bridge which is on top of the camshaft. But I would not suggest even removing the bridge as is requires locking both camshafts with special tools. One mistake in the procedure and your timing will be off and bent valves will be the result.

Why is it that you want to clean the "camshafts"? If your engine is suffering from sludge then it is throughout the engine

Sludging occurs from either not using the proper synthetic weight oil, going to long between oil change, using conventional motor oil, crankcase ventilation or heat or a combination of.

As I said earlier, if the topside looks as it is, then the rest of the crankcase, all the way down to the oil pan will look the same. Read both pdf's below, but bringing it to a mechanic will only empty your pockets and there is no guarantee that it will be undamaged if he doesn't have the right tools and the knowledge to do the job.

Thanks for the PDFs. Opening it looks easy but putting it back together is going to be hard.

I had issues with the oil 12 months ago, oil wouldnt go down when topping it up (Mobile oil) - i didnt really know how to look after the car back then, now i KNOW! Had my car serviced at the mechanic last month though (need extra work) and i dont think he used Mobile oil, i saw a bottle of "Titan" engine oil.

I've opened the cover and removed all the sludge I can without removing the camshafts. Do you think if i do a engine flush with a solvent and out new oil in will help? the solvent will remove whats left of the sludge out?

Is there any knocking or ticking noise in the engine as a result of this problem?

Is the photo you posted before or after you cleaned?

No there is no noise at all. The car sometimes feel it looses power when I accelerate - as if it's gone to neutral, I have to pull over and restart the car then it goes back to normal.

No that's before I've cleaned it, I'll try and post another picture soon.
