Cut off problem
Has anyone out there ever experience the problem where you start up your ml430 and it cuts off? I not sure what it is and it only happens every once in awhile. I'm afraid one day it might not start up again while I'm somewhere far away.

Has your fuel pump failed/been updated yet?
Common problem so I hear. Ours used to stall on start-up it until the pump completely failed and was replaced under warranty (left the wife and kids stranded) Hasn't happened since.

1999 ML430
What year 430 do you have? If it is a 1999 or a 2000 it is probably the fuel pump and lines. Dealer replaced mine under a service bulletin 2 years ago. Check with your dealer and have them replace it.

Could also be a key problem. If there's lots of stuff on the keychain and it hangs funny then the contact breaks and the engine shuts. Also if the keys wear down or occasionally go bad somehow, this would cause the problem where you start the car but it immediately dies cause the security system is cutting in. YOu can restart it but it will stop immediately.
In that case sometimes it just starts or if you change keys, it'll start.
