CEL: Possible CPS Failure?

Gents, the ML acted up tonight and my wife mentioned that it took a while to get it started when she was leaving a store earlier today. On our way out to dinner and made a quick stop and the car didn't immediately start. Had to wait 5 minutes before it would finally start. Sounds like the classic case of a CEL on it's way out to me. I don't have a code reader though I am assuming it is the CPS. If I replace the CPS, will the CEL go away? Appreciate the advice in advance!

ML430 Wont Start (sometimes)

I m having an intermittent issue where the truck wont start. This is the second time. The first time I thought I left the lights on because i let it sit for an hour or two and it started back up and drove fine. This is the second time and now I am leaning toward the cps (crank position sensor). It also cut off during driving one day on the highway (but started back up at 40+ while driving). I told my dealer friend and he signaled the cps as well. I also have the mystery lights ets/bas/abs don't know if its related.

ML430 cuts off while driving

Truck is back at the repair shop.
Will cut off during driving, sometimes doesn't start immediately.
I'm thinking Bad CPS (Crank Position Sensor)
any ideas?

Yes that's probably the problem, but why didn't you replace it yourself?
