ML350 (W164) broken back glass

Question on the electrical connections to the back glass ? There are 2 leads on the drivers side (left) and 1 lead on the right. These are heavy duty and obviously power the defrosting element. What are the small wires for on the bottom of the window for? Small gauge and connect to terminals in the glass. With the back glass missing, NAVI and satellite radio still work. So it cannot be connections to either of them. HELP. I am having an aftermarket back glass put in, and don't want any surprises. Thanks, Willie in Wisconsin.

Thanks Major ! The schematic does look a bit different on the W163/ML320 vs. the physical appearance of W164/ML350, but I take the info as essentially similar. Sidenote: I had replacement glass installed. The aftermarket back glass had both the defroster and smaller gauge radio connections. It was installed for under $200 locally and APPEARS to be a good fit. I can post results as time goes on. This is opposed to $900 for (I would guess) OEM glass. The installers only comment at the time of ordering was that the replacement glass was 'without TV'. Whatever that means. Do some of these models have rear camera? My 2006 model must be base, because I have no trick suspension or even side mirrors that retract electrically. Thanks again, Willie in Wisconsin
