Android Tablet in ML320
Just wanted to post this project I've been working on:
2002 ML320
Like many i found the Bose system and MCS quite lacking. So i decided it was carputer time, didn't really want to do a whole mini ITX situation largely because i wanted it to look clean and didn't have a ton to spend.
I decided to go with a 7" Android tablet (Viewsonic Viewpad 7 to be exact).
Installation was quite a task. Had to replace then entire bose system because of the fiber optic mess they use.
All audio goes bluetooth to a receiver hidden under the glovebox ( i do mean hidden if i didn't tell you it was there you would have no idea ha) so wires are kept to a minimum. Removal is a breeze should i want to use it as a standalone tablet.
If anyone is interested i can go into far more details. Very pleased with the results though.

Hi Adambarscheski,
this is kinda 3 years late, i just got an ml320 over a month ago and was thinking of installing a tablet and found your post. If you still have the instructions, would you mind sending them to me at esy_ejjm@yahoo.com
I would really appreciate the help.

The easiest aux input is to use a cassette adapter. And if you don't have nav or if your nav isn't working, then remove the radio and then the nav/cd drive, then re-install the radio. It gives you a good space to use a cassette adapter and tuck your mp3 player and adapter wire into the vacant area behind the faceplate above the cassette. If you are using your ipod, then you can get the ipod dongle with the steering wheel remote.
