1998 ML320 Maintenance

I have a couple of questions about my ML320.

After finding out that it would cost $1100 from the local MB dealership to replace an Air Door Actuator I viewed some posts and u-tube videos and ordered one online to replace myself. I wish I had read this before using the 320's symptoms, because they charged me $99 to find the problem. Anyway, I will know better now.

I do have a couple of other questions regarding maintenance. I bought the vehicle new and it now has 92K miles on it. I have been running synthetic oil and changing it around 4k to 5k miles. (By the way, they want $198 for an oil change). Would it be good to keep with mobile one or switch to high mileage type regular oils.

Secondly, I thought I would change the transmission oil and filter. What type of fluid would you recommend? Any other suggestions?

I had an old 89 Mercedes 300E that we kept for almost 20 years. I like the ML320 and would like to keep it.
