ML320 Heat instead of AC
I have a 2000 ML320. Recently the AC has not been blowing cold air. I was checking it today & turned the temp control to heat & back to cool & it started to blow heat continuously. I moved the switchback & forth & then it started to blow cool air after about 10 minutes. The center vent blow cool & the 2 side vents still blow moderate to warm air. I checked the fuses, there OK, I can hear the pump kick on & off. I also noticed that the recirculation button docent seem to be working…Any ideas. Do not have a diagram of the ducting so not sure if the chamber flaps are working correctly of if it is in the control switches...

I have the same issue. The A/C was blowing cold air then started blowing hot air. I moved the temperature knob from hot to cold/ cold to hot, and started blowing cold air. Now the car got stuck blowing hot air eventhough knob temperature is pointing to Cold. Any advise?
Please help.

If you are talking about a 2000 or older, remove the wood surround trim, then remove the fan, temp, direction assembly. Look on back where there is a nylon bushing than snaps into a bracket. I would guess that a tab has broken and your nylon bushing than the cable goes through is just hanging there so it cannot move what the cable needs to move. You can buy new/used off ebay or use JB Weld to fix it with some reinforcing. I did and it still works.
