instrument panel failure

so i've got a 2000 ml430. just had to jump the battery and the instrument panel now does not work.

the speedo, tach, fuel, etc stopped functioning. i did searches and read about the cable behind the panel being sensitive. however, before i rip apart the console, just wanted to know if there could be any other explanation due to a fuse or something behing blown after jumping the battery.

please let me know and thanks in advance!

Yes check all fuses with a test light with the key in the #2 position. Remember there are two fuse boxes; one under the hood and one at the right side kick panel.

You must have connected the cables wrong or jumped the battery while the key was still in the on position.
