Gave my workhorse ML a refreshed modern look with a LED DRL system!
I've racked up almost 160k on my work mule and it still never has failed me yet, love how much space the SUV has inside the cabin! No modern SUV has this kind of space without worrying about a little dirt!
Over the past 10 years I've added a custom navi stereo system, HID projector head lights, new LED tails, upgraded all my lights to LED slowly and it seems LED is the new technology for modern cars.
Anyways, I added some GL450 18" wheels/tires recently and decided to do some custom work to fit a set of LEVEL 2 LED DRL's into the section right under the headlights.
Color is 5000k and yes they dim and will turn off when the turn signals are activated. This is a true high power DRL system with it's own booster module and logic controller, not a cheap EBAY made in china thing!
whatcha guys think?
Sure makes my work truck a lot more eye pleasing...hehe
here's an OLD before picture when I got it:

Awesome looks!
You are giving me ideas. How did you integrate the LED DRLs? Did you have to cut through the headlight trim?
I have a 13 year old mule as well with 170k miles. Thinking of doing some incremental upgrades off late..
Lighting is the first thing that comes to my mind. LED DRLs & fog lamps would be nice additions....

Yes each trim was removed and carefully cut using a dremel and sanded perfectly square which was quite tedious.
The lights are wired to a dRL booster module so it comes on with ignition when the car is running. I have 6000k HID bulbs and the combo is quite stunning. Most people can't believe the SUV is 12+ years old now. I love it because I don't have to worry about dents or minor scratches like my other rides.
