ML 430 faster with a full tank?

My ML430 is much faster for about the first 20 miles after I have filled the tank. Obviously, the physics of hp/weight don't support this, but the engine runs much better. Almost as if the pressure in the tank is helping the fuel pump run more efficiently or something.

Anyone else have similar experiences?

sounds very odd... is it still under warranty? Could be a fuel pump/filter issue.
