After looking at new ML350 Motor mounts on line, I don't see where they have any jell contained in them. They appear to be basic rubber bonded to the metal motor mounts which should last a couple of hundred thousand miles even though the dealer wants to change them early. The last ones removed from my vehicle did not have a jell pocket. Other mercedes definitely use a jell motor mount and are subject to leakage. Any discussion would be appreciated as I think that the dealers always want to replace them prematurely (for safety, $$$). Thanks, Bill

Motor Mounts.
I was going to respond to your earlier post. But I see that you have found the correct Info . The dealer may be pulling on your wallet!! I just inspected the Vee compression type mounts in My 70,000 mile ML-500 and they were in good shape . The Vee type mounts can become un-bonded . and will let the motor lift up But not collapse downward. This is a easy thing to check . Open your engine hood so you can view the engine from the drivers seat.
apply the parking Brake , apply heavy pressure to the Brake pedel. Put the tranny in to drive . Apply the gas pedel to like about 1300 - 1500 rpm . If the drives side on the engine lifts more that a 1/2" the mount on the drivers side has become un-bonded . Now put the trans in reverse repete the same process . To Check the passenger side motor mount. BTW were are you located.
