ml 270cdi merc 300sl
parking brake alarm
hi
as anyone had an an alarm sound and beep all the time when driving a ml 270cdi 2003 model. its saying parking brake needs to be released, but the brake is released. its the same beep you get when not wearing seat belt. abs light on ans esp. brakes work fine. but need to stop the noise when driving.
plese help if you can.

You could have one of two problems:
1. Check to see that you are not low on brake fluid. Low fluid indicates you need brakes.
2. Even though the Parking Brake pedal is up it might not be all the way up. Pull the release handle with one hand and at the same time pull pedal up with the other. If that is not the case, remove te small panel covering the P/B and remove the one wire connector to the switch and see if that solves the problem.

thanks for reply. have now got it fixed. it was wires worn though on the abs pump, under the front wheel arch. drivers side.
really cheap to repair so well pleased.
