Both keyless entry and horn stopped working

Hello! Have a 2002 ml320 which over the weekend developed a strange issue! The key fob remote stopped working, I replaced the batteries and tried a resync numerous times with no luck. Secondly, the horn does not work either! Could these two problems be associated? Please advise me in any way! The help will be greatly appreciated, thank you!

The key fob and horn issues are not related.

Hopefully you are conducting the resync. procedure in the elapsed time and according to the owner's manual. If so you have an issue with the AAM.

In regards to the horn, follow below:

1. first check to see that fuse #37 is not blown.

2. swap relay #2 in the under hood fuse/relay with a similar one.

3. remove #2 relay and with a jumper wire with spade terminals attached, jump out cavities 3 and 5 in fuse box. If horn now works, you have to change your clock spring.

4. crawl under the truck and below each headlight is a horn. Remove the connector and clean the prongs on the horn with sand paper and try horns.

Look at the photo of the relay that I supplied. The green line indicates prongs three and five. Use the jumper wire at the corresponding cavities in the fuse box to sound the horns.

Nothing happens when two contacts are jumped, I'll check for 12V at relay next.
