2005 ml 350 starting problem
Hi guys,
our ml takes a long time to start up,
when we first crank the truck, it would not start. Then we had to try again to start the truck. It would take like the second time for the truck to start up, or some times even longer for the truck to start up.
Has anybody had this problem before and what parts or system need to be look at to fix the problem.

Problems like this are usually attributed to low fuel pressure. Buy or borrow a fuel pressure gauge and do the following:
1. After engine has been running for a while, turn if off.
2. Attach gauge to the fuel rail test port.
3. Start engine briefly and turn off. Note the fuel pressure at this point.
4. Return 1/2 hr. later and note fuel pressure.
If it has dropped below 36 psi, change fuel pump and fuel filter.
