I recently lost my remote key. I got my old battered up spare key to work. so I went to search inside the car to see if I lost my key in there. While doing that I must have pressed the lock button without noticing. I shut the door to get some tool to fish underneath the seats with. Of course since the lock engaged I can not get in my car anymore and the keys are laying inside on the seat. I have no other spare keys to open manual. Any idea what I can do. I live in Bolivia and it is properly not easy to get a new key here.

 

No matter what combination of remote lock or consul button lock switch I use I cannot lock myself out of the vehicle.
The only way to lock the ML, with no one inside the vehicle, is to use the key in the door lock or the remote lock with the door closed.

You might have to seek dealer resources and or sacrifice a window.
good luck, Mike says the lockout is no way but anything can happen.

Hi I’ve just had this happen today. Got to work and it was pouring rain so I put the keys in the centre console (ML320 2006 BTW) climbed into the back to get the umbrella then exited via the rear passenger seat. Closed the door (stupidly left the umbrella in the front passenger seat along with my bag and lunch and warm jacket) and the car doors (all) lock! No idea why. Can’t get it to do it again. I’ve not got it set to any fancy things (not even sure that’s possible with this model) Fortunately I have a spare key and wonderful family so I wasn’t locked out for long
