04' ML500 roof antenna broke off due to sun damage.

My 2004 ML500 is great but the roof antenna has sun damage and broke off. Now i get water leaking in by the opening when it rains. I've searched but can't find a replacement for my year model vehicle. Does anyone know where to get a replacement? Please let me know.

I have the same problem on my 2004 350ML. The rubber boot is in the same condition as yours. If I could find a new boot to fit over the antenna stub I think it would be fine for awhile. It is messing up my NAV system as I believe the wind at expressway speed is messing with reception. Let me know if you find a rubber boot and I'll do likewise.

I just found a rubber seal and mast cover for an older /different model MB on ebay. The seal base looks different than yours or mine, but the antenna mast cover looks like it will fit. I ordered and should try an install by first of next week . $ 23-38 same item from a variety of sources. I'll let you know if it works

I just purchased a cheap piece of crap of Ebay. I was able to get it around the "coil" part and then just pushed it down. It looks better than it did but I'm still not happy with it, although my reception is fine I prefer an MB replacement.

Buying cheap crap is a false economy. If yours is exactly like the one in the first photo, it will cost $210 direct from an MB dealer. https://www.parts.com/index.cfm?fuse...=GPS%20antenna

Check the diagram first to make sure it matches. http://www.mbpartsworld.com/showAsse...roduct=7988045

If I needed just the rubber antenna boot would this be the correct part?

$5 worth of black roofing silicon caulking will solve this problem. That's what I did with mine.

Yeah, after I looked at it again, I bought some super glue to try. Should be ok.
Thanx!

I believe superglue shrinks after it dries which is why I recommend silicone caulking.
Also - you just made up that your ML500 is a Designo right? I've never heard of an ML Designo addition.

Yep! Has a really nice 2-tone interior. The Headrests are embossed "Designo"

I got it a year ago for wife's Xmas Present. 2002 with 61000 mi on it. Has 71000 now. She loves it except for the obsolete sound system/navigation. She's gonna update that this year.
