Condensation on front windshield when the A/C is on
All,
A new issue has developed on my 2002 ML500, when I have the A/C on there is condensation on front windshield that develops. The system is set to auto, and there is always cold air blowing out of the defroster vernts. I'm sure it is a servo issue on the environmental system. Any thoughts or solutions to fix this?

Condensation is usually caused by extreme heat on the outside of the W/S ad cold on the inside.

Clean the inside of the windshield thoroughly then try again. If still present then use RainX-Anti Fog on the inside of the W/S.

Hi, I also drive a 2002 mL500 and I have the same condensation on the windsheild right above defrost vents.. It happens when AC is on as well as when the heat is on... I already know how condensation works, and what causes it... What I don't understand is why the defroster is running so hard that condensation covers the lower half of the windshield in a matter of minutes? Why is this happening when the defroster is turned off? @Ivanhos67, I noticed you started this thread 2 days ago, June 28. I first noticed it less than a week ago. I've never seen a car do this until now, and I've seen this particular vehicle do alot of weird s**t. This one happens to be the least of my concerns at the moment, but it's definitely a concern I hope comes with an easy fix.

@Maj Dundee, it actually happens worse in the evening when the heat of the day doesn't keep the glass warm.
@BunnyBlk10 I've been on vacation the last couple weeks and traveling for work. The A/C should be blowing thru the dash vents only, not the defroster vents. I had a 1986 Mercedes that had several of the control canisters fail. So the ventilation system didn't work correctly, until they were replaced.
I really wonder why cold A/C is being blown through the defrost vents at all? It shouldn't be, I believe one of the vacuum canisters isn't functioning properly and is not closing the the defroster flapper or the plastic arm is cracked. Any thoughts?
