Calling all engineers!!!

Calling all engineers, mechanics, drivers! How can I make my ML 430 more fuel efficient? I need to find a solution. The woman of the house wants to get rid of it.

I was going to switch to reg unleaded but the dealer said it will ruin my truck.

drive slower on the hwy... you will find you get significantly better mileage going 72 or below on the hwy instead of like 80.

In addition to driving slower, coast down hill (DO NOT PUT TRANNY IN NEUTRAL TO DO THIS!!!!!) Just take yer foot off the pedal. DO same at stop signs and traffic lights, take off slowly and build up speed gradually.

You can always do a motor swap and put a 4 cyl. VTEC out of a civic. JK. Try not flooring it to get on the freeway either, you have the whole ramp.

Drive like there is an egg between your foot and the pedals and don't want to break it.. I used to teach this trick to truck drivers with excellent results. This and a few other tricks (applicable to diesel trucks) brought fleet mileage at one company from 4.8 to 6.3.

Hmm .... you could carpool or take the bus ... or put Regular Unleaded and add mothballs in your gas tank to boost the octane to 92! jk

My advice, keep you tires properly inflated ...

This trick is no good. I am getting much more than your advertised 6.3 mpg without the egg!

Regardless, since you replied to the original question, I assumed you were an engineer and decided that I should not turn my back on an opportunity to benefit from someone's higher education.

The albumen was easy enough to clean up under the pedal, but the proteins of the yoke have completely messed up the WOT, and Mercedes-Benz won't replace it under warranty.

I say the gas I have saved in increased mileage is not worth the hassle, and I refuse to continue to needlessly kill baby chicks in the egg.

LOL - I said "like there is an egg" !! BTW, you could switch to unfertilized eggs.
