Hi, can someone help me? I have bought last week a ML 430 year 2000 with AMG optical parts. Does this engine have any problems? Do I have to take care about some special thigs with this car? I live in Switzerland, we have a lot of SUV's but not so many as in the USA and they didn't know the problems, they don't care!

There are some common issues with these vehicles that plagued most from 98-2001. In 2002 most of the issues were ironed out but some still complain of problems.... Here is a list i can think of...
Window Switches
Fuel Pump
Machine gun door locks (go up and down rapidly)
goop on sunroof (caused by bad seal)
streaking on windows (caused by bad seal)
squeaking suspension
clunking front sway bars
Transfer case chatter
Power steering (hose clamps fail and loss of fluid)
Front accessory fans that draw too much power and blow fuses
squeaking dash against windscreen
Noise coming from fan in ECU box

I might be missing some but thats all i can think of now.

Oh my god....... another question, what can i do to have more power? Is an air filter k&N good for a V8 engine? Until know i've fixed the Evo wheels and black windows, but i still need some parts, does any body know a good adress in germany, or is it a problem to ship the parts to europe from the USA? I hope that i can bring some pic's of my ML430 next week.

Don't think the K & N Air Filter is a good idea. Heard that they can cause problems with the Mass Air Flow Sensor which cost $200.00 plus US dollars to replace.
