2005 ML500 Mirror Issue

I have a 05 ML500 with a mirror issue. It all started with one mirror not being flush to body and when driving it flaps with wind. Now both mirrors are doing it. I noticed that the center console button does not have a mirror folding button, making me believe previous owner switched it from another car. How easy is it to replace the button and did anyone else have this issue? Are the mirrors broken or is the motors not fully extended?

If you do not have the square window folding switch on the master switch pack, the wrong one has been used.

Do not force the mirrors into place, hopefully they have not been damaged.

Please read the pages from your owner's manual on the subject. If you don't have an owner's manual, get one.

Below is a list of salvage yards throughout the country that have the window switch that you need. Just make sure that it is the same number 163 820 71 10.
