turn signal lever

Hey all,
i have a '98 ML, and just recently the turn signal lever has been a problem. When i signal for a left turn, the signal lights go on, but after i turn, the lever is hard to push back to its original position (and turn off the turn signal). The car will occasionally turn it off on its own, but when i have to push the lever back to its original position manually, it seems like its stuck, or doesnt want to move easily. (and this only happens with a left turn...) Anyone had similar a problem, or know how i might fix it? Any help would be appreciated, thanks,

Turn signal problems

Early '98s had bad combination switches. I think mine was replaced three times before they came out with a redesigned or otherwise improved one. It's benn fin for 5 years since.

I just had mine replaced for this VERY same thing. The dealer kept telling me that there was nothing wrong. I finally grabbed the service writer and had her, yes HER, go for a ride to see that the signal was not canceling after the turn.

It seems that I have to take my car in 3 times for every one problem I want to have fixed. Arrgghh!!
