Gas gauge/sender unit again?

hey all,
I filled up the ML today when it was almost completely empty. Now, normally, it's about 15-16 gallons to fill up totally. But, when I filled up, it was only 11 gallons and it stopped filling. So I stopped and when i started the car, it was telling me full tank....very strange.

When the car was under warranty, we had a fuel sender unit replaced. It was because when we filled up, the gas needle would never register as full, but almost. Halfway between full and the first 1/4 mark.

My question is...is this another of the same problem or what can it be? Defineatly not 11 gallons fills up the 99 ML...my 94 C220 takes 15 gallons when i'm almost out!

Awaiting a new arrival...
I have had mine fixed twice already for the same issue and yet again the issue is back as of Sunday night. This crap is ridiculous.

I think my ML might have the same problem. Everytime I think I fill her up...the needle never goes all the way to the top. I'm used to that...never really bothered me before. But lately I've noticed that when I get close to empty the gas gauge needle doesn't move. Example: I can be down to about 1\4 tank on the gauge, maybe a little less. I park it overnight on a slight decline, maybe 10-15 degrees decline. wake up and start her up...the yellow gas light is on and needle is on empty. I have yet to see the light come on during driving time. Its like I can drive forever on a 1\4 tank!!
Oh yeah..no more starmark warranty, so I think I'll be living with it!!
