Brake pads

The wife's '99 ML 430 is going to need some new pads soon. Any suggestions for some good low dust pads? Does Mintex, Hawk, Pagid or Porterfield make pads for the ML? Can anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks!

brake pads

This past spring I installed Wagner Thermoquiet pads and shoes on my Jeep. They have been amazing as far as improved braking and lack of any noise. I haven't got to the point of replacing the pads on my ML yet but will be installing them on my son's ML this week. The part numbers are on Wolfgang's site.

I have Porterfields to remove the brakedust from my wheels, they work great, my wheels barely have any brake dust on them! I suggest you get these, you can get them from www.formymercedes.com

I would recommend Pagid or Mintex. The Porterfields still dust considerably, often make lots of noise (even if you adapt the Brembo shims to them), so you may as well go for something more reasonably priced.

I also found that the Porterfield pads for the larger MLs (2000+ ML430/ML55) had a slightly larger pad, so that if you do not replace the rotors at the same time, they may not fit into the wear grooves for a while.
