My mother owns a 2003 ML500, since she picked it up last year that radio has been acting up. And by that I mean the radio is on, I can change stations and so on but there is no sound coming out of the speakers. Any idea what could cause this, Im hoping someone has experienced something similar. I don't really want to tear into it blind.

Turn radio off using the radio button and take key out of ignition.

Remove fuses 10, 21 & 40 in the underhood fuse relay/box.

Wait 10 secs., reinsert fuses and try radio.

I will try this tomorrow, but out of curiosity what is that supposed to do?

Those three fuses control power to the radio.
