it's either in your owners manual. Use the 2000ML manual online from Mercedes below.
Or they may be shown on the jack and jack accessories in the right rear side compartment inside the cargo area.

I use the chasis to jack my ML's. or the jack points listed below;

There are brackets holding the bar. Depending on the design of the brackets the jacking points might remain as Mike pointed out or you might have to jack on the bracket itself. I have the bars as well & I had to buy a new hydraulic 5 tone jack because the points were closed by the bracket. The car wasn't stable enough when lifting the car from the bracket.

Art's post reminded me that my 05ML has running-boards and there is an adapter and instructions packaged with the jack, mentioned above, to use with the jack points. However, like Art, I use a floor jack but mine is only 3.5 ton which I think is more than enough for the ML.
[EDIT] One more thing, Jack stands saved my *** once while doing a break job on my 98ML.

Hey Mike,
3,5 is more than enough. The only reason I got the 5 tone is it fits nicely in the jack compartment( no play at all). The 3,5 was a bit loose........
