satellite radio antenna

Can anyone post pics or comment related to aftermarket satellite radio antennas on ML. Currently driving 98 ML320 and looking for ideas as to least invasive way to install aftermarket satellite radio antenna. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Search of forum revealed only one ML pic which was not very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Yeah that install seems pretty good.

MB's stock antenna install (for the 2004 MY ML's) is similar but perhaps a bit poorer in planning - the wire routing is terrible, especially for an OEM solution. (the wire is exposed and runs directly through the inside of the hatch lining - then, when it comes down a bit, it crosses over the right side pillar (all exposed), then it goes into the CD-Changer box.

Antennas, interesting. I am wrestling with the same plus radio. I am a radio ham (VA3MVW) and I want to mount a vhf/uhf radio in the car. A small Yaesu, even with remote head.

In most American trusk this is easy but in the ML they have made it almost impossible. Has anyone done anything similar?

satellite antenna position

Thanks for all of the replies. I was thinking of mounting antenna on front of ML above windshield on passenger side similar to the position you see on all new GM trucks. This positioin would avoid having to run a cable to the rear and presumably would result in minimal trim removal. Not sure about wire routing outside of ML with this approach. Another idea is to use a glass mount antenna on the front windshield in the upper corner of the passenger side. The glass mount antennas I have seen on the market however appear to be too big for this location. Any thoughts on these strategies appreciated. Also planning on buying aftermarket satellite receiver as I currently have aftermarket unit installed with harness.
