I recently got my rear rotors and pads in from O'reilly Auto Parts. Never realized how quickly this car chews on them lol.
Anyways I want to spare myself the +$500 labor and do it myself (for the 1st time).
From my understanding after removing the wheel you want to unclip the retaining device? This is a pic I took and i'm not sure this is it in yellow:
Regardless this looks nothing like what I was expecting visually after watching several youtube guides like the ones below.
The front and rear axles' presentations are different. Yesterday I decided to unclip what I think is the retaining device with a screw driver, but the tool started flexing lol. GAWD help i'm stuck!
Ex:
The rear rotors are more difficult to change than the front ones.....
You don't even know how to remove the calliper.
Please do yourself a favour take it to a shop & watch & learn so you can do it next time. Brakes are not a part you can play & experiment with. My concern is your safety.
Yeah I made mistakes today, mainly ones that could affect my safety.
I got up in the morning to take another shot at it before I had to go to work.
I am positive that I found what needs to done. I figured I was going to unbolt the bolts on the other side of the caliper later. One of the jacks (the one that came with the car, it looks WEIRD) slipped while I tried to increase the height to mount the wheel back on. Then one corner of the car landed on the wheel i placed underneath the chassis...-_____-
Good thing i never brought my head near there.
I put the car back in place which sustained no damage as far as i'm aware (thanks to the wheel). I'm taking your advice and taking her in to a shop on Thursday.
Good. For the first time its always better to observe & learn. It is not a difficult task if you know what you are doing....
I am 100% sure next time you will handle it like a pro.....
Cheers

You should read the owner's manual that explains how to use the supplied jack without risking serious injury or death. If you don't have one, you can download it.
The handle of the jack in your photo is pointing in the wrong direction by 90 degrees, if you haven't folded it.
