Bought my 02 ML320 about five days ago, driving yesterday and check engine light pops on. The codes were P0422/P0432 Main Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (one code for each bank).

I filled up with Sunoco 93 octane, made sure gas cap completely tight, and cleared the code.

I doubt that will fix it, so wanted to get a head start. Anyone have any experience with this?

both cats are bad. make sure your spark plugs were changed also.
