2004 ML350 will not take security code
Hello All, New to the forum here. My fiancé and I picked up a 2004 ML350 Inspiration Edition a couple months ago, our first Benz. We love it! The best riding vehicle we have ever owned, however it is a quiet ride with no stereo. We picked it up at a car lot (non MB dealer) and were told that the original stereo was non-functioning and replaced with a used unit, which was asking for a security code. We called our nearest MB dealer and everything checked out, we were informed to pull the unit and give him the serial number and he would be more than happy to give us the code. A little too easy to access, but we got it. "33153" no luck. We triple checked the serial number and contacted another dealer just to be sure. Anyone else had this issue? I'm afraid the stereo may be toast. Thank You very much for your time. I have searched and came up with nothing. I look forward to gaining knowledge from this community, and adding a little of my own when possible.

Without the VIN of the donor ML, it is almost impossible to determine your security code. Try looking through the manuals that came with yours, in the vain hope that the previous owner was smart enough to record the code somewhere that people like you would be able to find it in future.

Thanks for the input, DRx. I've went through every piece of literature that came with the truck with no luck. I tried the 5 instead of the 3 prior to posting without success. It seems like this forum is blown up with mcs owners asking for codes so I tried to do extensive research before posting. Thank you for your time, the dealer only offered "it must be a problem in the wiring, bring it in." I don't see any logic behind that theory.
