ML 500 02 Good Buy???
Howdy,
Friends of mine are looking to purchase 02 ML500 20K miles loaded with most if not all features. Dealer price is around 38K.
Is that good? Are there any issues with 02 ML 500 cars?? How is realibility?

Ask to see it's service history to .....
determine if it's been a 'trouble benz'. If it has that might explain why it was traded - I'm not saying all '02 ML500's are bad - but there's certainly more than a few potential lemons around. As for price I suspect it should be low thirties if not $30k. The market for all ML's, especially used, is extremely soft right now. Thus $38k is too much - I'd offer $30k and maybe go to $33k max. Walking away from a deal usually makes the dealer more flexible. Remember your friend is in control as he has the check !
