ML500 Nav System night viewing
Has anyone else noticed the ML500 (03) Nav system map is very hard to read at night? The wonderful choice of colors (brown roads on a black background) doesn't help, but I can't read the white road names either. When I switch to "bright" mode I can read everything, but the display is then WAY too bright for night use.
The choice of colors on the nav display is truely poor. In the day mode the intended route is shown in blue which makes it very hard to tell the difference between the many canals we have in Florida and the inmtended route. Makes you wonder if any usability testing was done at all.

The system is made by Alpine, not MB.
I found it common w/ other alpine systems.
I think it's purely a matter of taste/preference.
some like it, some don't.
set it to day mode and change brightness level all the way down.
try that...
