Hi,

I own a 2002 ML320.
Yesterday my car started to act weird. Every time when left or right signals are on, my car will have some accelerating issues. It's acting like it's lacking gasoline, or like somebody is pumping the gas pedal. Also when I have the signals on and I'm applying the breaks, the clicking sound disappears.

Any ideas?
Thank You!

Have the car scanned for codes with a pro level scanner, then post the codes. It seems like you might be having an electrical fault related with the combination switch.

Quick updates

It only does it when I turn right signal on. Or hazard lights.

Somehow the right turn signal triggers your cruise control to work. You most probably have a short in the wiring to the combination switch or the combination switch is faulty.
Scan the car.

OP, if I were you, I would skip scanning for codes and go directly to disassembling the steering column surrounds to find the faulty wire. At this age, some of the insulation is flaking off.

The reason the clicking stops when you apply the brake is because the brake light switch deactivates the cruise control.

Getting the top cover off without breakage is pretty tricky. There is a tiny plastic pin sticking up at the back of the edge on the bottom cover. If you push in the plastic clip with a small screwdriver and lift the cover straight up, you might not snap it off.

It has become sort of automatic to tell "scan for codes".....
I agree with DrX. Open & find the "shorting" wire...

Are you sure you're not actuating the cruise control? That's located on a stalk off the steering column...my daughter had to be taught that it wasn't the turn signal lever!

The logical thing to do is look at the right tail lamp and right mirror lamp while the stalk is in the right turn position.

A faulty bulb can cause this sort of problem.
