Wrong bolt size on my new power steering rack
Help...
I am putting on a new power steering rack on my ML270 from 2001 (W163).
Because of the cars old age I decided to save some money and bought an unoriginal part.
When I was about to fit it I discovered that the bolt circle where the power steering hoses connect to the steering rack was 2 mm bigger on my new part. I think the old part is 14 mm and 16 mm. The new is 16 and 18 mm.
Any idea how I can solve this?
Can I buy new hoses somewhere that fits to the new part, but also fits on power steering engine and on the oil cooler?

Welcome to the forum.
You have bought a wrong part. Return it. Buying a non original steering rack is not a good idea. You are better off buying a good second hand one, or a recon.
Why have you changed the rack on the first place?

There was a leak on the old one.
This is the part that i ordered: http://www.alibaba.com/product-detai...159620987.html
Returning it is almost as costly as the part itself, so I dont think i will do that.
I am trying to find a solution with an adapter for the bolts.

There are 8 seals on the rack. One of them could have been the reason of your leak. They are very cheap & easily replaceable.

Are you even sure that the rack is for an ML? Critical parts one must buy from reputable places.
