2000 ML 320 Engine Won't Stay On
Hi everyone,
Proud owner of a 2000 ML 320.
Up here in Washington state we've had torrential rain. The other day I drove trough a gigantic puddle that caused me to hydroplane and spray water all over the windshield and hood respectively.
Immediately following the splash I noticed the engine running rough. 5 minutes later I reached my destination, took around 20 minutes to run errands, then returned to the car. It fired right up and the engine no longer ran rough.
Drove home with no incident. Then the day following (yesterday), went to turn it on.. It turns over and fires up smooth as silk for about 2 seconds then shuts right off.
The engine bay is as dry as a bone, as are all of the fuses and relays. Any ideas as to what's succumbed to to being waterlogged? Would like a few postulations before I tow it and have diagnostics run...
Thanks!

You might want to check the connector to the CKP Sensor (Crankshaft Position Sensor) located at the left rear of the engine/transmission, to see if water is between the wires.
Also check the X18/3 connector at the left rear wheel which controls the fuel pump.
