Motor Mount question for 2000 ML55

I have Febi Brand Motor Mounts and one side is shorter and the other side is longer. Which side faces the front of the vehicle, shorter or longer side
as these are not marked as front on these new mounts.

Something is wrong with your logic or what you purchased---you have two front engine supports, the short one is on the R and the long one is on the L--then both mount to the same part numbered rubber mount 163 240 03 17.

You also have a rear engine mount which is 163 240 03 18

What are you trying to do!!

What I am saying, when look at the motor mount, one leg is longer than the other leg.
They are not the same height, if that makes sense.
The part number is the same for both left and right motor mount.
So, question is the shorter faces the front or longer one?
The rear engine mount is you are referring to the transmission mount?
