Interior lights keep switiching on and off, while car is parked
For some reason my 2000 ML seems to think its funny to play with the interior lighting. Sometimes, Ill open the door and the lights wont turn on. Then, when I park it, and lock all the doors, the lights inside will turn on, then quickly dim...a minute later this can happen...no real sequence, its pretty random.
this can obviously kill the battery...what is causing this?
thanks

Its possible that you have the interior light switch in the wrong position. Its on the overhead consol near the front lights. As for turning on, Thats normal. No it will not run down the battery. Read your manual for a detailed explanation of operation

Also, this is deff. not normal. The car is parked, all doors locked...the interior lights should not switch on and off intermittnetly without anyone touching it.

No they should not switch on and off, but they will come on when you leave then fade out. They will also come on when you unlock the car with the remote or even push the unlock even if not locked. On my 02 the switch is in the overhead near the front lights
