Hi,
I'm thinking of getting an ML55, do you have any suggestions on the year and can you list any problems that you have had with the car? Thanks for everything!

Get as late model as possible. The ML was facelifted in 2002 with over 1200 new parts, etc. - so try to get a 2002 or 2003 if possible.
Of course, no 2004's as the ML55 was discontinued after '03 (until the next ML comes in a bit...).
For now the fastest Mercedes SUV is the G55 AMG, which for 2004/2005 gets the supercharger from the SL55K, E55K, etc. - the resulting G55 Kompressor AMG puts out 476 HP, which fits quite well with the permanent 4WD. Even with it's wall-like aerodynamics, the G55K still can beat a Porsche Cayenne Turbo in straightaways...hopefully that foreshadows a monster for the next AMG ML - likely the ML63 AMG.
