Ml55 AMG remote re-programable?
Hi everyone,
Is it possible to re-program other ML remote(s) into your current ones? I'm looking to get a spare remote w/ key for my ML. I'm being told by www.keylessride.com that their remotes can be re-programed at local MB dealership.
Is it better off to order it straight from dealership? What do they charge for this service? Can any one give me an estimate?
Thanks

Well a number of people have said that they successfully reprogrammed new remotes - others report failure with the same technique. I don't recall the specifics, but it was something to do with turning the ignition on and off three times then pressing one of the remote buttons or something like that - I don't exactly remember.
I just went for servicing at a new MB dealer that opened up here and asked the service manager about the remote - he claims that the remote is custom-programmed at the factory for every ML, but then again he later claimed to me that the ML does not have an HID headlight option, has no support for enabling DRL's (daytime running lights), and other stupid things like that, so....

New keys need to be registered with the AAM
AAM = Access Authorization Module. You'll need to take it to the dealer to have the new keys registered with the AAM. I'm not aware of any way round this.
